Dechert Dynamics Corporation Earns ISO 9001:2015 Dekra Certification

On June 10, 2015, Dechert Dynamics Corporation achieved ISO 9001:2015 Dekra certification for the first time. Every employee at our company worked hard over the last year to ensure we would pass the ISO certification requirements.

What is ISO Certification?

ISO Certification is a guarantee that every step of a company’s internal processes are controlled and documented. By documenting each step of the process, the company shows it is in compliance with industry standards. While many entities are not yet certified, it is becoming standard practice as most international clients, the military, and the government expect to work with certified companies so they can expect consistent, quality products and services at all times.

What is ISO 9001:2015?

The ISO 9001:2015 is based on a number of quality management principles a company must adhere to, including a strong customer focus, the role of the company’s top management, the process approach, and a focus on continuous improvement. These principles help assure customers that they can consistently expect quality products and services. Any size company in any industry can apply for certification; in fact, more than one million companies in 170 countries around the world have obtained this certification.

How Did We Prepare?

It took six months for our company to prepare for the certification. We put together a quality manual documenting every aspect of our internal process, from our company’s organizational structure to our guidelines for CNC machining operations. This documentation added an extra layer of accountability with our machinists, ensuring their daily operations were laid out clearly and concisely. This ensures our clients that we adhere to the highest standards of production and quality control.

We were audited twice prior to receiving the certification to ensure our documentation system was up to par. We will be audited once more within the next year, and then once every three years after that to maintain certification.

What Does our Dekra Certification Mean For Us and Our Clients?

Rather than changing the work flow process, these changes helped ensure every step of the procedure was well-documented, contributing to quality products and services every time. The additional documentation also helps our management team know which employee performed which step of the CNC machining process, eliminating inconsistencies and helping with quality control.

These documents help everyone involved in the production process, from employees to management to the customer. Our employees know what’s expected of them at all times, and management can review the process and procedure of any purchase order at any time. Customers like to check job records and project details to ensure the highest standards are being met; customers working with certified companies can trust that the company is already meeting those standards.

Within the next year we will be audited again to ensure continuing compliance with standards and procedures. We look forward to continuing to provide every client with the highest quality CNC machining products and services!
